Welcome to Fletcher Pipe’s Home Education Website

This website has been set up for Fletcher to log his Home Education journey until he is able to take over control of his own website.

Family and trusted friends may have access to this site & on request MOE for the exclusive use of proof of recorded learning opportunities provided to Fletcher, in compliance with our School Exemption. Fletcher may also choose to use this for evidence to take part in future educational pursuits.

Approach to learning

The style of education we are currently following is Eclectic. It is mostly child lead natural learning with structure around reading, writing and basic math. Fletcher is home educated with his elder brother and is active in the home ed community in Hawke’s Bay.

Activities and Interests

Regular activities include, but not exclusively; Swimming, Library visits, Duke St (Scout hall & large field the HB Home Ed community rent. It comes with the ability to share kai, participate in large games, science experiments, team sports, tree climbing, etc). Minecraft club, Flip Out (trampolining), Art Gallery visits, Plays, Aquarium visits, parks and shared childcare with another home ed family. 1/2 day with them at ours. 1/2 day with Fletch and his brother at their house every week.

Topics that have captured Fletcher’s interests include Robotics, Animals, Construction & Animation. He is particularly careful in his handwriting, taking pride to be accurate.

Why & When

Fletcher started home educating officially on his 6th birthday but has been part of the home ed community a few months after pulling his brother from school. Although Fletcher has never attended school, he did attend Kindergarten, which he left when it became clear he would be happier being with his big brother.
